Inspired by using abundant local flora as material, each piece is a one-of-a-kind artwork created on handmade wooden panels (16" x 24"). Using freshly picked Rudbeckia flowers as natural stencils, I build layers of spray paint to capture the spontaneous patterns of growth we see in nature. Once the paint is set, I finish with a thin layer of beeswax, fusing in oil stick markings and pressed botanicals through the traditional encaustic process or I simply use matte medium as a protective layer where no pressed flowers are used.
The result is vibrant, textured, and alive — bursting with movement, color, and organic energy. Some see blooming gardens, others see cellular life under a microscope. Each painting invites you to pause, notice the rhythm of nature, and bring that sense of wonder into your daily space.
